3rd Generation of S.O.G. Crew
The third generation of S.O.G. Crew team members came at the right time. The Sons of God were considered a national group since 2007 thanks to Jason Fros'T Neville and 4th Man Music Group opening the doors to Nashville, TN. The third generation members helped establish the Crew and ministry throughout the country in Colorado Springs, San Diego, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Boston. The S.O.G. Crew went from Anaheim Hip-Hop group to National recording artists with the addition of teams from the East to the West Coast. Even though the original members pioneered in the Underground Hip-Hop scene, the third generation of Crew members automatically became part of the Thump Records/ Universal Music Group family with the 2016 release of their 4th album titled 'Fighting 4 Love,' and the 2017 release of 'Beginning of Things.'
Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
The only one out of the third generation of members that was around for more than ten years is Native Gospel Hip-Hop Artist from the Gila River Indian Community Dez Lewis. Dez and his brother Derrick Lewis formed the Native Gospel Hip-Hop group Worriers Serving Christ out of the Phoenix, AZ area. Dez Lewis toured Hawaii, New York, Montana, and most Native American communities for years with the Sons of God before joining the S.O.G. Brotherhood.
Isaiah 60:4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
The 3rd generation members each brought their style and resources to the table when they entered in. Hapizzez opened the door to all the military bases in the country with a program to reach active military duty members that were battling with the issues of suicide. Arlizzy and J Bizz brought the experience of running a family-owned business in Colorado Springs (Mi Gente Customs) with the background of working with the local radios and with Lowrider Magazine. J Styles brought his FREESTYLE way of rapping that inspired Battle Ax and the team. Esther Escobedo brought her worship along with the entire Spanish Nazarene Denomination (Point Loma Nazarine University). Dez Lewis has been an Ambassador to all Native Communities opening the doors to all tribes in North America. Each member brought so much to the team, but above that, they all have a deep relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
This group of Sons of God Crew members will always be honored for standing in the gap when it seemed like no one else would. When it seemed that the vision was lost, this group was SENT by God to make sure that S.O.G. continued in the call that God had given them almost twenty years earlier.
